How scores are calculated

What the score measures
A church's health score is based on the ratio of Wednesday night attendance to Sunday morning attendance. We use it as a proxy for how involved a congregation is: members who come back mid-week for Bible study are investing more than the minimum.
- Fair to every size. Because it's a ratio, it doesn't favor large or small churches. A congregation of 40 and a congregation of 400 are measured the same way.
- Objective. It avoids subjective factors like style, facilities or programs, and looks only at attendance.

Each church's score is shown as a ring out of 100. A higher score means more of the Sunday morning congregation is also there on Wednesday night.
Submit Scores
Scores come from bulletins submitted by people at the church. To submit, pick a church on the map, open its panel and press Submit Scores. You'll be asked for photos of the front and back of the bulletin, and you need to be within 30 miles of the church.
